The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has issued a provisional permit for the Surry–Skiffes Creek transmission project. The 500 kV line is required to ensure reliability on the Peninsula following the planned closure of coal-fired units at the Yorktown Power Station.

Pakistan’s NTDC connects hydropower plant with national grid

Pakistan’s National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has constructed the 132 kV double-circuit Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) transmission line to connect the 147 MW Patrind hydropower plant to the Muzaffarabad-II grid station. Recently, a unit of the hydropower plant was put into operation and was connected to the national grid through the 132 kV line.
