Description/Scope of work: International competitive bids are invited for the engineering, design, manufacture, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of various components under the Sustainable Electricity Supply Southern Division (SESSD) Project. The project is funded by Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KFW), Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the European Union (EU) – Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-AITF). The bids are invited for the below mentioned works:

I. 1. Transmission Substations

Lot 1A: Central Province: construction of 132 – 88/33/11 kV new converter substation and rehabilitation and upgrade of 88/33/11 kV Kabwe main substation in Kabwe

Lot 1B: Southern Province: construction of 66/11 kV Livingstone West substation in Livingstone

Lot 1C: Western Province: Construction of 132 – 66/33/11 kV Kasima substation and 132 kV overhead lines to link into the existing Mongu – Kaoma line from 132 – 66/33/11 kV Kasima substation (line in line out) in Mongu

2. Transmission Lines

Lot 2A: Central Province: construction of a 132 kV double-circuit overhead line from Kabwe step down substation to 132 – 88/33/11 kV new converter substation in Kabwe

Lot 2B: Southern Province: construction of a 66 kV overhead line from Linda substation to 66/11 kV Livingstone West substation and linking into the Victoria Falls – Kazungula 66 kV line from Livingstone West substation (line in line out) via a double circuit 66 kV line in Livingstone

3. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)/ Distribution Management System (DMS) and Telecoms

Lot 3: Installation of SCADA/DMS & telecoms for the whole SESSD project, which includes both the transmission and distribution substations and lines under the SESSD project

II. Distribution Substations

Lot A: Central Province: construction of 33/11 kV Kabwe Mine substation, 33/11 kV Mulungushi University substation and rehabilitation and upgrade of 33/11 kV Mulungushi Textiles (MTZ) substation in Kabwe

Lot B: Southern Province: construction of 33/11 kV Bantabury substation in Mazabuka and rehabilitation and upgrade of 33/11 kV Sun Hotels substation in Livingstone

Lot C: Eastern Province: construction of 33/11 kV new Nyimba substation, 33/11 kV new Petauke substation, 33/11 kV new Sinda substation and rehabilitation of the 33 kV switchyard for 66/33 kV Azele substation

III. Distribution Lines

Lot A: Distribution lines in southern and western provinces: construction of overhead lines (33 kV, 11 kV and 0.4 kV ABC cables) and associated transformers and switches, and connection of consumers

Lot B: Distribution lines in central and eastern provinces: construction of overhead lines (33 kV, 11 kV and 0.4 kV ABC cables) and associated transformers and switches, and connection of consumers.

Bids are invited for individual lots or for any combination of maximum number of six lots per bidder.
