Hitachi ABB Power Grids bags INR1 billion order from HRRL in India [free access]

Hitachi ABB Power Grids India has recently bagged an order worth INR1 billion from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL)—a joint venture (JV) between state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and the government of Rajasthan.

 

HRRL has set up a new refinery and petrochemical project in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, for which Hitachi ABB will be responsible for delivering a 220/66 kV substation to enable transfer of power from the state grid to the Barmer refinery. The scope of contract also entails the installation of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) with a compact and low-maintenance design, which will facilitate space conservation for the refinery as well as deployment of modern power transformers, to further enhance power infrastructure safety and efficiency. The substation is also be equipped with advanced substation automation systems to control and protect HRRL's grid.
