Italy-based Terna wins Aguaytía–Pucallpa line in Peru [free access]

May 22, 2017

Peru's investment promotion agency Proinversion has awarded the Aguaytía–Pucallpa line project to Italy-based Terna SpA. Earlier in February 2017, Proinversion, through its Comité en Proyectos de Energía e Hidrocarburos Pro Conectividad or Committee on Energy and Hydrocarbons Projects, announced the tender for the project.

The contract includes the design, financing, building, operation and maintenance of the 132-km, 80 MVA Aguaytía–Pucallpa line. The objective of the project is to strengthen the supply capacity of Pucallpa substation and meet the rising demand in the region. The project will require investment of about USD20.3 million and will be based on a self-financed public-private partnership (PPP) model.
