FERC allows energy storage participation in regional markets

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has voted to remove barriers to the participation of electric storage resources in the capacity, energy and ancillary services markets operated by regional transmission organisations (RTOs) and independent system operators (ISOs).

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has opposed the preapproval of Public Service Company of Oklahoma’s (PSCO) request to charge taxpayers in return for a partial ownership of the Wind Catcher Energy Connection Project and access to some of the electricity generated by it.
