  Belgium-based Tractebel Engineering which is operating as LEME Engenharia in Brazil has signed a contract with Eletrobras Distribuicao Rondonia, a subsidiary of state-owned Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras) for supervising the implementation of 58 substations and about 1,700 km of power lines in the state of Rondonia, located in the north-western part of Brazil.

• Itaipú-Villa Hayes transmission line to be completed by April 2013

  The 500 kV, 347 km Itaipú-Villa Hayes transmission line being developed by Itaipú Binacional, operator of the Itaipú hydro power project located on Paraná River on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, is likely to be completed by April 2013.
