Transource Energy awards line contract to Harlan Electric for IEC project

Transource Energy, owned by American Electric Power (AEP) and Evergy Inc., has selected Harlan Electric as the line contractor for the Independence Energy Connection (IEC) project, despite the fact that the project has yet to be approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC).

NYPA approve five-year contract to Kenny Construction Company for 345 kV line

Enel Green Power, a part of Italy-based Enel Group, has selected ABB to install a 500 kV digital substation to deliver clean electricity from its largest solar photovoltaic (PV) plant at São Gonçalo in Piauí, north-eastern Brazil.

Mexican CFE awards USD38 million cable contract to Prysmian Group [free access]

Prysmian Group, an Italian multinational dedicated to the manufacture of cables and transmission systems for the electricity and telecommunications industries, has been awarded a new contract worth about USD38 million by the Mexican state-owned power utility, Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) for the project “Proyecto de Conectividad Fibra Óptica Red Eléctrica Inteligente REI” in Mexico.

Paraguay-based ANDE awards contract to Consorcio Siemens-Rieder 500 kV

Paraguay’s state-owned power company Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) has selected Consorcio Siemens–Rieder 500 kV (Siemens, a global electrical engineering and electronics company, and Rieder & Cia, a Paraguay-based integrated solutions provider for energy industry) for the design, supply and installation of a Contingency Control Scheme for the recently completed 500 kV Yacyretá–Ayolas–Villa Hayes line, and Ayolas and Villa Hayes substations.

Mainstream Renewable Power and Transelec sign Chilean transmission contract

Ireland-based Mainstream Renewable Power and Chilean power transmission company Transelec SA have signed a contract to design and build a transmission line that will connect the former’s 293 MWp of solar parks to the national electric system in Chile.

India-based BGR Energy Systems Limited has received an order from the Indian state transmission utility, Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam Limited (JUSNL), for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of three 132/33 kV substations at Sundarnagar, Sarath and Chattarpur in the state of Jharkhand on a turnkey basis.

GE T&D India secures 765 kV GIS bay extension order from POWERGRID

GE T&D India Limited has bagged a contract from the Indian grid developer, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), for the construction of 765 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) bays at the Phagi substation in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Turkish firm to construct power line for TAP power transmission project

An agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Turkish company, TAPP-500 Power Transmission Line FZE, a subsidiary of Çalik Holding A.Ş. (Turkmenistan), on cooperation for the construction of a power line as part of the 500 kV Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power interconnection project.
