California-based V&R Energy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), PacifiCorp, and Google have been awarded a project on `High Performance Adaptive Deep-Reinforcement-Learning-Based Real-Time Emergency Control (HADREC) to Enhance Power Grid Resilience in Stochastic Environment’, from Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E).

NYPA approve five-year contract to Kenny Construction Company for 345 kV line

Paraguay-based ANDE awards contract to Consorcio Siemens-Rieder 500 kV

Paraguay’s state-owned power company Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) has selected Consorcio Siemens–Rieder 500 kV (Siemens, a global electrical engineering and electronics company, and Rieder & Cia, a Paraguay-based integrated solutions provider for energy industry) for the design, supply and installation of a Contingency Control Scheme for the recently completed 500 kV Yacyretá–Ayolas–Villa Hayes line, and Ayolas and Villa Hayes substations.

Egyptian EETC awards substation contract to Al Kharafi–Taikai–NHVS consortium

State-owned Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has signed a contract worth EGP440 million with a consortium comprising of Kuwait-based Al Kharafiand and China based —Taikaand New Northeast Electric Group High Voltage Switchgear (NHVS), for the construction of a 22/220/500 kV transformer substation in west Damietta, to meet the increasing electricity needs in the Delta region.
