The Italian Prysmian Group has secured a new contract worth EUR17 million from Canada’s New Brunswick Power Corporation (NB Power) to supply a submarine cable system for its Fundy Isles Transmission Line Project.

Spanish multilateral corporation Abengoa SA has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Chile-based Compañia Minera Teck Quebrada Blanca S.A., part of the Grupo Teck Mining Inc., for seven 220 kV electrical substations of 220/23 kV and 220/6.9 kV for the second phase of the Quebrada Blanca mine in Chile.

ABB to supply FACTS to Brazilian Furnas

World Bank awards two contracts for CASA 1000 project

The World Bank has awarded two contracts for the CASA 1000 project. The transmission project aims to facilitate the trade of 1,300 MW of electricity among four countries—Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Afghanistan and Pakistan, involving surplus energy from hydroelectric power projects in the former two countries to the power-deficit Pakistan (1,000 MW) and Afghanistan (300 MW).

Indian KEC receives 220 kV line contract in Nepal
