India’s Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) construction division has bagged transmission and distribution orders worth INR10.15 billion in international and domestic markets. The contracts have been awarded to the Electrical & Gulf Projects Operating Company, a part of L&T’s construction division.
The company secured orders valued at INR8.11 billion from Gulf countries. Two orders are from Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (TRANSCO) for construction of 3x132 kV substations at Al Wathba and Mohd Bin Zayed City. A second order is from Oman Electricity Transmission Company Limited (OETC) for construction of a 132/33 kV substation in the Quariyat Area. Another order is from Oman’s Public Authority for Electricity and Water Building (PAEW) for implementing SCADA for its water transmission network.
The company’s three domestic orders aggregated INR2.04 billion and included construction of a 220/66 kV substation at Bengaluru for Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), a 220kV substation at Dhule and Bhableshwar in Maharashtra for Maharashtra State Electricity Company Limited (MSETCL) and the conversion of 11 kV overhead lines to underground cabling network in Margao for the Goa Electricity Department.
