Uzbekistan seeks consultants for World Bank-funded project [free access]

The state-owned power company, JSC Uzbekenergo, of the Republic of Uzbekistan has requested expressions of interest (EoI) for providing consultancy services under the World Bank-funded ‘Rehabilitation of Transmission Substations’ project.


The scope of work under the contract entails – data collection in order to develop the transmission network models for the years 2020, 2025, and 2030; transmission network analysis to identify and assess candidate transmission projects (including smart grid technologies for transmission network reinforcements and expansions required for the period 2020-30); identification of transmission investments and a connection plan for renewable energy (RE) integration into the transmission network; and analysis of the technical and economic impacts of the variability of RE integration into the Uzbekistan power system over the period of 2020-30.


Based on the analysis and results of the above tasks, the consultant will be required to prepare the ten-year (2020-30) transmission network development plan for National Power Networks of Uzbekistan (NES), and develop policies and procedures to be followed by the NES transmission planning and investment departments.


The last date for bid submission is June 10, 2020.
