TAESA acquires 11.6 per cent share of BRASNORTE in Brazil [free access]

Brazilian electric power transmission company, Transmissora Alianca de Energia Eletrica SA (TAESA), has acquired 11.6 per cent share of Brasnorte Transmissora de Energia S.A. (BRASNORTE) from Bipar Energia SA. With this acquisition, the former has become the sole owner of BRASNORTE, which owns the 230 kV Jubá–Jauru line of 129 km, 230 kV Brasnorte–Nova Mutum line of 273 km, 230/138 kV Jubá substation of 300 MVA, 230/138 kV Brasnorte substation of 100 MVA, and other associated transmission systems in the state of Mato Grosso, since 2011.

 

Earlier in June 2019, TAESA had acquired a 49.71 per cent stake of state-owned power company Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A. (Eletrobras) in BRASNORTE.
