Canadian Hydro-Quebec energises 735 kV transmission project [free access]

Canadian Hydro-Quebec has commissioned the 735 kV Chamouchouane–Bout-de-l’Île project in Québec with an investment of CAD1.3 billion. The project will help in meeting the growing demand in southern Québec, while ensuring the reliability of the entire grid of the region.

 

Under the project, the company has constructed a new 735 kV, 420 km transmission line between Chamouchouane substation in La Doré, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, and the Montréal metropolitan loop; a 735 kV, 19 km line to supply the Bout-de-l’Île substation in Montréal; and the 735/120/25 kV JudithJasmin substation, located in Terrebonne.
