L&T bags USD299 million contracts in GCC and Asia [free access]

Indian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged USD299 million worth of contracts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Asian markets.

 

In GCC, the company has secured contracts in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman. In Saudi Arabia, L&T will undertake construction of 115 kV substations along with associated transmission lines and cable circuits, while in Dubai in the UAE, it will undertake 132 kV cable works for a substation. Also, the EPC company will complete an extra-high voltage (EHV) substation in Oman.

 

In Asia, the Sarawak state of Malaysia has awarded L&T a contract for construction of a 275 kV substation.

 

In addition, L&T has bagged contracts from developers in India for constructing a 235 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. Another order for a Rural Electricity Infrastructure Development project under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) scheme has been awarded in West Bengal.
