Developer: State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC)

Project details and status: The governments of China's Henan, Qinghai and Gansu provinces have signed a cooperation agreement with the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) for constructing an ultra high voltage (UHV) clean power transmission line from Qinghai to Henan.

The CNY22.6 billion project entails the construction of a ±800 kV direct current (DC) transmission line that will extend 1,587 km across four provinces, from northwest China's Qinghai, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces to central China's Henan Province. It will have a rated transmission capacity of 8 million kW, with an annual transmission capacity of about 40 billion kWh.

Construction works on the transmission line began in November 2018 and are expected to be completed in 2020.
